Ramchand Pakistani

Another Pakistani movie that claimed to be part of "New wave" in Pakistani Cinema that promises to give new life to dying or already dead local movie making industry. There was much hype created in newspapers and channels about it but the reason was quite clear when I saw their names in sponsors list. "Khuda key liye" was a better attempt in production, storyline, acting and direction, it was a pleasure to view a movie that depicts our society's dilemma so well. No doubt the storyline of "Ramchand Pakistani" was very unique and depicted very realistically . But still it left me with the feeling that more could have been done and the abrupt ending was a big shock. A sudden love interest of mother in another man, was half cooked and failed to portray the lonliness or the desire to share the pain of losing that lead to that relationship. The acting was too good even the child actors were stunning in their roles.
Media and people should encourage such attempts but positive criticism always help in improving quality of work.

Islam feminists urge gender jihad

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4384512.stm
The major factor behind discrimination against women in the Muslim world is lack of knowledge about rights and duties as defined in the Holy Quran. We reject and accept whatever we feel like without even bothering to consult the Quran. We Muslims should understand that our religion is not just a few praying rituals but a doctrine defining our behaviours and ways of life. Lack of education and weak financial conditions make men insecure and more liable to turn oppressive, violent and dominant, proving to themselves and others that they are still "Man enough". Education and good job opportunities is a way to make them realise that there are better ways to prove themselves "Man" rather than beating their wives.

Innocent Target of Extremism: Sophie Lancaster & Robert Maltby

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/lancashire/7314306.stm
Shocking, disgusting, unbelieveable, infuriating, painful, tradgic, frustrating!!!!!!!! I want to write all such words but stillfeel unable to express myself! Its heartbreaking and it sounds so unreal! the victims are not my relatives or friends but itsmaddening and heart wrenchingto read about the way two people are treated with such brutality and senseless violence. I felt nauseated by seeingeven somewhat healed injuries of the guy! Their only "crime"? having body piercing and wearing black!! the mob of wild teenagersattached those two harmless people and left them to bleed to death!!!!!!!! Extremism and such brutality!I feel for the guy and girl's family who are left to suffer their whole lives from the memories of this most tragic accident. Its depressing the way the girl didn't flee to save her life because her boyfriend was under attack..I just cant get it out of my mind....may Allah console her family and the guy...and may her soul rest in peace...I wish they both find justice and the responsibles get life sentences something very very painful and worst...I dont have a little bit of sympathy for them at all!Even I can't understand the logic behind so much body piercing and find it weird...but still find no reason to impose myviews on others by insulting them. Why this world is turning in such a mad place where people can't accept different views? Why can't we value human lives? how can someone be killed so ruthlessly just for dressing something that is not acceptible for a bunch of rowdy teenagers?

Extremism is an issue faced by whole world not by a specific religious group or location.

Is Sarkozy Crazy to Wed Carla? | Newsweek International | Newsweek.com

Is Sarkozy Crazy to Wed Carla? Newsweek International Newsweek.com

Its hilarious that when the Super Powers are entangled in their "Fight against (damn)Terrorism" and scratching their heads over economy, a leader has guts to have such a tabloid-scripted affair with a French model and providing best photo opportunities to Papparazis who are finding it more glamorous than our Brangalina trotting around with four kids. The President and his girlfriend went to Disney World enjoying Fairy Tales characters, roam around on beaches in swim suites and walk around in Pyramids holding hands, these news made Bush envious of French lover's luck as his own wife has no plans to dump him for another guy and give him a chance to check hot babes of Beverly Hills! so the poor guy spends more time in meetings scheming to fight against shadows threatening his country and venting his frustration by fighting wars in other countries.

There is no doubt that world should be thankful to French President for adding spice in World News as we are too overdosed with sad news and grim faced politicians.

Graveyard Politicians

Islam has forbidden grave worship but fortunately or unfortunately not grave politics. So our most influential politicians are the ones burried 6 feet deep in graves than the ones living and kicking (their political rivals). They have managed to assert their powers and stronghold even from the graves. They are better in attracting voters, winning elections and triggering masses towards toppling any regime. We have seen politicians turning into better leaders after their deaths. The instructions of Allah not to talk ill of a dead person is obeyed with such vigor in Pakistan that we canonise them as saints as soon as they are declared dead. Zulfqar Bhutto was introduced to arena of politics by a Marshal Law administrator Ayub Khan and he brought Yahyah Khan, the most notorious Marshal Law administrator to legitimate his hold on power but alas he was hanged as a result of a controversal judiciary verdict tainted heavily by his conflict with another Marshal Law administrator Zia-ul-Haq. His sorry demise was more noticeable than his rise. Suddenly he became epitome of democracy, someone who stood up to the dictatorship and paid the prize with his life. His daughter's comeback was hailed by the Jialas more as his own second-life in world. We are not fortunate like Americans whose presidency candidates convince voters of their validity through economic and foreign policies but we listen to same mantra of "fighting against corruption" and "democracy establishment" in every election. Hell with economics and people dying in Northern areas, our politicians will fight the corruption by establishing the democracy.
Now we have another addition to the graveyard politicians mafia, Benazir Bhutto. She will build the political career of her husband and son, will help them to retain their hold on voters, will be quoted in every Jalsa of PPP and will have her picture printed in all the PPP elections banner. She will be more convincing and effective from grave than she was from Dubai or Larkana. A politician who sacrificed her life for waving to her supporters. I sympathise with her family who lost a wife, mother, sister, Bua and friend, I mourn her death as a loss of human life and I protest her killing as senseless murder but still I won't forget or forgive these politicians for the harm done to my nation and my country.
